You might be asking why java.apress.com is posting an excerpt (and soon other content) on Ruby on Rails. Well, the answer is simply because more and more Java developers are migrating to Ruby on Rails as their Web-tier framework of choice in whole or at least in part as part of a broader enterprise Java application solution stack. And many others are at least entertaining the idea of using Ruby on Rails.
The advent of JRuby to best faciliate Ruby on Rails integration into the Java platform will likely only increase this trend. And Groovy/Grails is simply a reaction/response to this growing trend as well.
Therefore, for those in Java now adopting or at least considering Ruby on Rails, you may want to check out this chapter excerpt: (Ruby on Rails E-Commerce) Project Setup and Proof of Concept from the recently published Beginning Ruby on Rails E-Commerce by Christian Hellsten and Jarkko Laine.
